The Tregaron Conservancy in Washington, DC is restoring its historic landscape in an effort guided by the estate’s original design. One of the estate’s “outdoor rooms” featured gardens and a bench designed by Ellen Biddle Shipman, who was the estate’s landscape architect over a century ago.
Country Casual Teak worked closely with the Tregaron Conservancy to address its specific needs and create a custom bench design inspired by the original. The curved teak Lutyens bench is one of a kind and has an expansive, 15-foot-long curved seat. The piece anchors the new Shipman Terrace, a tranquil spot for relaxing in the woodlands near the Tregaron Conservancy’s Lily Pond.
